Handbook of Particulate Drug Delivery is an attempt to bring together, under a single cover, the promising aspects of nano- and micro-particulate materials dealing with their chemistry, biology, engineering, and their medical aspects. This work is the first ever published in this research area that draws on past decades of pioneering research on particulate drug delivery. This handbook has over 5000 bibliographic citations, hundreds of illustrations, figures, tables, and chemical structures. The two-volume set contains 32 state-of-the-art review chapters written by more than 90 internationally renowned experts from 10 countries. This handbook is broadly classified into two thematic volumes. The first volume comprises 15 chapters and is primarily focused on the materials and technologies available for particulate drug carriers. The second volume also comprises 17 chapters and is primarily focused on the applications of particulate carrier systems in treating many diseases effectively. The various chapters include recent advances in nanotechnology processes and applications for particulate drug delivery; preparation and characterization of polymeric nano- and micro-particles for pharmaceutical applications.
