In recent years, “identity construction” is a hot topic in sociolinguistics, pragmatics, CA, linguistic anthropology, and other related fields. In this book, we will read and discuss research in the relatively new field of language socialization. Demonstrate a broad understanding of major linguistic and socio-cultural issues relevant to the Japanese language, and demonstrate an ability to discuss them rigorously. This book will serve as a new, alternative, integrated approach to the developmental study of language and culture.
