Evolutionary computing is a significant field of study for adaptation and optimization. The approach actually originated from the Darwin concept of natural selection, also known as the survival of the fittest. Evolutionary computing has seen a significant increase in both theoretical and industrial applications over the last decade. This book provides an overview of some recent advances in evolutionary computation. It focuses on evolutionary computing, which is viewed as one of the most promising paradigms of computational intelligence. It covers a wide range of topics in optimization, learning and design using evolutionary approaches and techniques, and theoretical results in the computational time complexity of evolutionary algorithms.
